Week #19

Busy week!

I can't believe this week is already over. So much has happened. We were going through the Area Book and we found this woman who is a great girl, but her telephone number didn't work. But there was an e-mail address, so I e-mailed her last Monday. Then a few hours later she called us! She goes to school in Zagreb now, so we made arrangements to meet in Zagreb on Thursday because we had a zone conference to go to. So after our last English class :( (Our English class was so great. They are all such good friends now and when we invited them to bring food for our last class party, they brought tons of food. But didn't eat anything but my cookies! We felt like they brought all the chips and cookies for payment or something.), anyways. After our last English class on Wednesday, we went to Zagreb and slept over at the Bake ( ba-kay, Grandmas in Croatian, Senior Sister missionaries in missionary language). They're so cute and so much fun. Then we had the lesson with the woman we were in contact through e-mail. In the lesson, we found out she just wanted to hang out with missionaries again and not interested in the Book of Mormon. She's found what she needs to do in life. But hopefully we'll be able to help more in the future!
The Zone Conference was great! President and Sister Teixera were the guest speakers. President Teixera is the 1st counselor of our Area now, but will become the President in August. We received some great counsel and encouragement. There's so much potential for our area! We just got to step it up and see how much success we can have! Our mission president thinks that we can have 20 baptisms a month. (There were only 38 baptisms all last year.) So it's a huge jump, but we can get up to that point if we have faith and do the things the Lord wants us to do.
On that note, we met with three people the next day and after each lesson we just felt like we hit a wall. Two investigators who feel like they don't need to change and a less-active who is having a hard time being active because her daughter is filling her with lies. So after that hard day then we had some great lessons! Two with investigators we had about 2 months ago and haven't had lessons with them because of their jobs, but during the lessons you could just see in their eyes their desire to have more truth, hope, and happiness in their lives. It was so great! It just got us pumped for how the rest of this week will go. Can I give you a hint? This week will be...AMAZING! We'll let you know how it goes
.
Funny story: So we were heading to Zagreb and when we exited a tunnel on the other side of the mountain, we looked out the window and their was snow! We couldn't believe it! It's May right? I expect these sort of things from Utah but my beautiful Croatia? Zanimljevo (Interesting).
Sveto Pismo Tjedna: (Scripture of the Week) This scripture just kept coming up to share with investigators so I'll share it this week. Mosiah 24:14. This is when the Alma's people were in bondage and did they turn their backs on God and decide he was not there? No! They prayed. And they didn't just pray for their burdens to be gone. They prayed for their backs to be strengthened. They became stronger from the trials they were going through. So if you are going through any sort of trial right now (which typically is all the time), ask for a stronger back. God will give it to you. He will help you through because He loves you. He loves every single one of us. Keep going! Keep enduring! This life is only a moment. Hold on for one moment longer. Volim vas puno! Vidimo se!
