Week #2

This has probably been one of the fastest weeks of my life! I tried to look back at the past week and see where I've been and a lot of changing has happened, but to get there wasn't a lot. Every day we get up, get ready, study Hrvatski i sveta pisma (Croatian and scriptures), eat lunch, study, eat dinner, study, and go to bed (and gym is in there somewhere depending on the day). It's crazy that I'll be starting my third week tomorrow! BAH! Where has the time gone by? Yesterday, we taught 3 investigators. It was intense! The lessons weren't bad, but I bet they didn't understand anything. Now you may wonder, well isn't the purpose for them to understand? Nemislim (I don't think so). Jer ja sam pokusala (because I tried). I just need to open my mouth and make a lot of mistakes so I can learn and become better. Which brings me to my first embarrassing moment while teaching. We were teaching Goran (our teacher Brat Morris) on Thursday, and he asked what we were studying before going on a mission. I said I wanted to become an elementary teacher. Well he gives me this scared look and scoots back and makes a stabbing motion. I was like what? He pointed towards me and then slits his throat. I wanted to say teacher which is ucitelj but what I said was ositelj which means killer. So I told him before my mission I was an elementary killer. Definitely not what I was going for and definitely not what the church supports. Oh and last night, the same teacher ate some cookies and I asked him if he liked the poo (close to cookies). Again not what I was going for. Oh the joys of translation. The language is obviously still difficult, but that's to be expected. It's just the 2nd week. Malo po malo (little by little) my classmates and I will get it.

FYI it's easier and cheaper to not mail me or email me but dearelder.com me. It's free while I'm in the MTC and I get it the same day. If I get an e-mail, I have to wait until P-day and if you mail me, you have to pay money. It's just eaiser all around to dearelder.com me.

Strength of the week: We've been teaching the first lesson a few times and I love using the scripture Alma 5:45-46 because I'm able to share my testimony of how I know the church is true, but they don't have to take my word or anyone else's word but learn for themself to know the Book of Mormon is true. This has totally helped me stay strong to what I know and testify it. I love this gospel and hope you do too!!! If not, fast and pray about it and God will let you know! Love you all!!! Keep smiling :D
